Overview
QuickAppRing is a sandboxed, offline macOS launcher. The app has no network client or server sandbox entitlement, and it does not sell, share, or transmit personal data.
Settings stored on your Mac
QuickAppRing stores the settings you create, including registered apps, excluded apps, shortcut behavior, interface language, and runtime toggles. These settings stay in the app's sandbox container and are not transmitted by QuickAppRing.
Installed apps and Quick Add
When you open the Launcher pane, Quick Add may ask macOS for App Management access. It reads installed-app names, icons, bundle paths and identifiers, and Spotlight last-used dates so it can display and sort local suggestions. Search text filters that local list and is neither saved nor transmitted.
The scan result and last-used dates remain in memory. If you register or exclude an app, its name or bundle identifier becomes part of your local settings. QuickAppRing does not transmit any of this information.
Keyboard and pointer input
QuickAppRing observes global modifier-state changes and registered trigger-plus-number events so it can recognize its exact shortcuts. It reads whether Option, Command, Control, Shift, or Fn is currently held. It does not record typed text, build a keystroke history, or send shortcut activity anywhere.
When the App Ring is visible, pointer location and clicks are used in memory to highlight and select a ring segment. QuickAppRing does not store or transmit pointer history.
Frontmost app checks
QuickAppRing may read the frontmost app's bundle identifier so it can pause shortcuts in apps you exclude. That value remains in a small in-memory runtime snapshot until the frontmost app changes. It is not written to disk or transmitted.
Language and local diagnostics
If you choose a language other than System, QuickAppRing stores that choice in its app-specific macOS preferences using AppleLanguages. The selection is not transmitted.
The app may write operational messages, such as launch success or failure, to the macOS unified log. macOS may retain those logs locally under system policy. QuickAppRing does not upload them and includes no remote crash-reporting service.
Website hosting logs
This website's hosting provider may process ordinary hosting logs—such as IP address, requested URL, timestamp, browser user agent, and security events—to deliver and protect the site. Those logs are separate from the QuickAppRing app. This site uses no analytics script, advertising pixel, account, or marketing tracker.
Support email
When you choose to contact support, your default mail app sends the message to the support mailbox; QuickAppRing itself does not collect the message. Support emails may contain the address, message, and attachments you choose to send. They are retained only as long as needed to respond and resolve the request, unless longer retention is required by law. You may request deletion by contacting the address below.
Retention and deletion
Local settings remain until you edit or remove them. You can remove registered and excluded apps in QuickAppRing Settings. To remove all settings, quit the app and delete its sandbox container at ~/Library/Containers/com.ivelly42.QuickAppRing. QuickAppRing has no server copy of those settings.
