QuickAppRing · Help
Support without a maze.
Start with these checks
- Confirm QuickAppRing is visible in the menu bar or Dock.
- Open Settings → General and make sure App Ring is enabled.
- Confirm the current app is not listed under Excluded Apps.
- Make sure the same top-row number is not claimed by another shortcut utility.
- If the runtime state looks wrong, quit and reopen QuickAppRing once.
Quick Add cannot show installed apps
- If macOS asks for App Management access, allow QuickAppRing to read local app names, icons, paths, identifiers, and recent-use dates for Quick Add.
- If you denied it earlier, check System Settings → Privacy & Security → App Management, then reopen QuickAppRing Settings.
- You can always choose an app manually from the Launcher pane.
Option+number does not open an app
- Confirm an app is assigned to that slot in Settings → Launcher.
- Use the keyboard's top-row number keys, not a numeric keypad.
- If you changed the trigger, use the trigger currently selected in General.
- Normal hot-key capture does not require Accessibility or Input Monitoring permission.
More than one Ring appears
If you previously installed a preview build, an older copy or login item may still be running. Quit every older QuickAppRing copy, remove stale entries in System Settings → General → Login Items, keep only the current release enabled, and reopen it.
